Mattia Colombi, composer and pianist from Genoa, born in 1988, began his journey into the world of music at a very young age, starting to play the piano and later the guitar as a self-taught musician, helped by his grandmother, a pianist, and creating his own unique musical language.
As a pianist, he has given concerts and performances, both solo and in trios and larger ensembles, distinguishing himself both as a soloist and as an arranger. He began publishing music under his own name in 2017, devoting himself to jazz, pop, rock, music for theater, and soundtracks.
In his music, he mixes classical elements and improvisation, and does not shy away from venturing into the maze of popular music.

"The songs, melodies and dances I have collected on this concept have common Mediterranean roots and are part of the cultural heritage of anyone who lives in or has visited a Mediterranean country. You can hear them everywhere in our part of the world, on the radio, on television, hummed in the street or played masterfully at parties"
Born from a collaboration with Alessandro Gori (aka loSgargabonzi), who co-wrote the lyrics with Gianluca Cincinelli, “Romanzo di formazione” is an experiment in which the narrator's voice intertwines with the sound of the piano.
“Like all Genoese, I have a deep and melancholic connection with my land and my past. How much nostalgia I feel every time I think of my friends from the past and how much bitterness overwhelms me every time I realize that these ties have vanished. Magón recounts this feeling, hovering between sweet remembrance and desperate sadness.”
An experimental record, in which electronic sounds are mixed with jazz chords, 8 different sound environments that tell 8 different urban images, sometimes melancholic, sometimes decadent and sometimes dreamlike that evoke deep and personal feelings that grip us when we walk the streets of a city.
Suite No. 1 consists of 6 independent pieces, but linked in a dreamlike journey that begins with III/10, which opens the door to the magic of fantasy and ends with Indaco, which resolves it all, bringing us back to reality as if it were an ancient melody.
"In between one passes through a Suq, dances with a Witch, confronts Malipensieri and is reborn in Baalbek"
